NHBC's 'Buildmark' is a home insurance warranty that provides protection against damage of defects due to breaches during construction of NHBC's standards for up to 10 years following completion. 'Buildmark' is an industry standard recognised by all major institutions including banks.

NHBC standards take account of building regulations, british standards and NHBC's own records of defects. NHBC believes that prevention is better than cure where, standards are continually reviewed and amended to minimise defects.
